Timelines Must Compress
The business needs earlier production or capacity without introducing uncontrolled delivery risk.
When delivery needs to change—not simply work harder
Leaders bring Edward in when established delivery systems are no longer producing the speed, adaptability or visibility their portfolios require.
Interfaces Are Slowing Delivery
Late decisions, broken handoffs and unclear ownership are creating waiting, rework and schedule pressure across owners, contractors and disciplines.
CLIENT CHALLENGES
AI Must Become Operational
Leadership sees the opportunity but needs practical applications inside real project workflows—not another disconnected technology pilot.
EXPERIENCE
Experience built in real delivery environments
Edward’s work began in Japanese manufacturing and progressed through aerospace, enterprise transformation, energy operations and major capital projects. His experience spans owner organizations, EPC and EPCM partners, engineering teams, fabrication yards, commissioning and operations.
Across Shell’s upstream, downstream and megaproject environments, Edward has worked with executive leadership and frontline delivery teams to shorten decision cycles, remove constraints, strengthen interfaces and build practical operating rhythms that hold under pressure.
Today, he helps capital-project leaders identify focused, low-risk entry points for outcome-driven and AI-enabled delivery—working inside the governance and delivery systems they already operate.
SELECTED EXPERIENCE
Evidence from complex delivery environments
Selected examples from Edward’s operational and advisory roles. Results are specific to their project contexts.
~40% Shorter Duration
Integrated delivery teams and tighter work packaging reduced the construction duration of a major living-quarters scope on Shell’s Vitto and Whale developments by approximately 40%.
Complex Multi-Party Delivery
Schedule and productivity work across a Crux delivery environment involving approximately 450 engineers and a peak fabrication-yard workforce of approximately 1,950.
14 Operating Assets
Lean management systems and leadership routines deployed across Petroleum Development Oman’s operating portfolio.
30+ Years
Experience across energy, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing and technology, with work spanning 12 countries.

HOW EDWARD WORKS
A practical partner to leadership and delivery teams
Start with the Business Outcome
Define the value and timing the investment must produce before redesigning the delivery system.
Work Inside the Existing Environment
Strengthen the governance and delivery system the client already operates rather than imposing a generic transformation model.
Test on Real Project Work
Use live decisions, constraints, interfaces and schedules—not theoretical exercises.
Build Capability While Delivering
Leave leadership and delivery teams with repeatable ways of working, not ongoing dependence on consultants.
THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Ideas grounded in practice
Edward is the author of Rethinking Capital Project Delivery, a 433-page examination of adaptive operating models, modular execution and agentic AI in complex capital projects. The book translates lessons from energy, aerospace, manufacturing and technology into a practical model for faster, more adaptive delivery.
